The Real Reason the Trump Supporters are Attacking Taylor Swift Online
Amidst the chaos, conservatives on all possible platforms have been spreading rumors about Taylor Swift and her connection to the upcoming election. This was in turn intensified following reports from The New York Times suggesting that the Biden campaign eagerly awaited Swift’s potential endorsement.
If this turns out to be true, this could potentially change the course of the election significantly. Gov. Gavin Newsom of California, Biden surrogate, claimed in September as reported by TMZ,
“Taylor Swift stands tall and unique,–What she was able to accomplish just in getting young people activated to consider that they have a voice and that they should have a choice in the next election, I think, is profoundly powerful.”
While President Trump has thus far not commented on his thoughts on the matter Rolling Stone recently confirmed that the Trump supporters are indeed calling a “holy war” against the singer, especially after the news she could potentially throw her support behind Democrats in November.
Attacks like these on Swift would pose considerable risks for Trump in the future, particularly given his political positioning with women and young demographics. Taylor Swift is relatively neutral so far on this upcoming election. Bill Maher’s Warning to MAGA Chanters Targeting Taylor Swift

Speaking on the matter Bill Maher on his show Real Time stated,
“This is a national news story in the sense that this is a person who could literally swing the election. I don’t know what that says about this country, but I would just say to the ‘MAGA [Make America Great Again]’ people, ‘You should be very careful attacking her because this is someone who transcends parties.’”
He further continued,
“I’m just saying this is somebody you could really get in trouble with as far as attacking for ‘MAGA,’ because Trump’s people, they’re already registered and voting for him,–Her voters perhaps are not registered at all, and she doesn’t have to say who she’s voting for. All she has to say is get registered. They know who she’s voting for.”
To put his comments into context evidently in September last year, Vote.org witnessed a surge in voter registration after Taylor Swift requested her then-272 million Instagram followers to register via the platform. On National Voter Registration Day, the organization recorded 157,041 eligible voters visiting the site, resulting in 35,252 new registrations. Thus, if Swifties decide they could take down an army!
