Chris Nolan and Emma Thomas, as always such a debt of gratitude to you. To my wife, Yvonne and my boys, Malachy and Aran, I adore you.”

He concluded:

Twenty-eight years ago when I was trying to become an actor, I was a failed musician, and I felt extremely like an interloper. But now, looking out and all of you guys here today, I know that I’m part of something truly wonderful. So thank you so much.

Robert Downey Jr. has also secured yet another major notch on his belt with the SAG Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture.

The ceremony took place after SAG-AFTRA staged a four-month strike and to expand its live programming, this year’s awards streamed live on Netflix for the first time.

Why do Fans Feel Sorry For Bradley Cooper?

Bradley Cooper, who was also nominated for the Best Actor Award at the SAG Awards 2024, lost to Murphy. He was nominated for playing the role of conductor Leonard Bernstein in Maestro. The biopic follows Bernstein’s tumultuous relationship with Felicia Montealegre, played by Carey Mulligan.

Cooper, who made his directorial debut in A Star Is Born showcased what he can do behind the camera with Maestro. He used some great technical elements in his direction to enhance the authenticity of Maestro. To portray famed conductor Leonard Bernstein, Cooper had to go through a physical transformation and dedicated six years to learning how to conduct a 6-minute 21-second sequence in the style of Bernstein for a crucial scene in Maestro

His efforts surely gave great results as the movie received positive reviews from critics. The American Film Institute even named it among the 10 films of 2023. Maestro is now streaming on Netflix.
