Zack Snyder’s vision for the DCEU was regarded as legendary. His storytelling, cinematography, and design methods were excellent, and he understood the characters he was portraying perfectly well. Even though he has walked away from the franchise, these are facts that no one can take away from him.

While working with DC Studios, he was a part of many projects, even a few that were never released. In an older post, the filmmaker revealed the concept art for a third Wonder Woman movie that never happened; Wonder Woman 1854. During a recent interview, he was asked about the same, and he revealed the theme that the movie would have followed.

He revealed the general premise to be surrounding love and war. Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman would apparently go to every major conflict in the world in her search for Ares. During this quest that lasted lifetimes, it would seem that she became subjected to far too many tragic love stories.

Zack Snyder’s Plan for Wonder Woman 1854 Would Have Been Tragic

Recently, Zack Snyder gave an interview with Empire, where he was asked about Wonder Woman 1854, a film he teased in 2021, but nothing came from it. After revealing the themes of the film to surround conflicts like love and war, he mentioned what Diana’s approach to romance would be.

He revealed that in her search for Ares, Diana’s life was centered around battlefields. She would go from one war to another, trying to find out which one was being caused by God. During her time with armies, she would grow close to soldiers. She would meet someone on the field and grow fond of them, or a high-ranking officer would catch her eye.

“My idea for it was that she would travel around the world looking for Ares and she would go to every place where there was conflict.” he went on, “On those battlefields she found these lovers, warriors, and they would age out because she is immortal,”

However, since Gal Gadot’s character ages differently than normal people, these lovers would not last long.

Aged Out, Died, or Replaced

Diana Prince does not age the way humans do. Having a slow process of growing old, she has managed to look exactly the same for a hundred years. With this in mind, she would have had to be very strategic when it came to the partners she chose, especially if she did not tell them the truth about her being. She could not be with a person for long, having to change them every ten years, according to Zack Snyder.

“They would be her lover for ten years or they might die in battle, and it was probably sad for a lot of the guys because they would see her starting to be nice to the next young soldier and be like, ‘Oh, I’m being replaced.’ But all the guys that she had with her were those loyal warriors she found on the battlefields all over the world.”

They would either be replaced in ten years after they started to age and she didn’t, or they would die at war. If they did know her truth, they would have to spectate when their time ran out as she went to find the next person she could fall for, forever stuck in an awful cycle.

“We talked about if Steve Trevor was there in Crimea,” Snyder went on, “It was never a screenplay, but we talked about it so much that it kind of had its own life.”

Ultimately, the roads to her heart would lead her back to Steve Trevor. Although Snyder did not reveal how he would come back, he mentioned that the concept for the movie did not manage to make it past the screenplay, causing it to never happen.
