As Jujutsu Kaisen is possibly reaching its climax, the latest Shinjuku showdown arc stands as one of the most intriguing and adrenaline-inducing parts of the entire anime verse. The tenth arc of the series exhibits the intense climactic battle between Jujutsu sorcerers and the king of the curses, Ryomen Sukuna.
However, despite the story’s significance, fans are becoming extremely curious about a possible plot hole in this arc involving two important characters: Uraume and Hakari Kinji. Since these characters haven’t appeared in almost 200 days, fans are wondering whether their absence would lead to a plot discrepancy as the Shinjuku battle approaches to its end.
The Unresolved Battle Between Hakari and Uraume in Jujutsu Kaisen
Throughout the Shinjuku arc, the implication of the ongoing conflict between Hakari Kinji and Uraume has been particularly fascinating. However, as the story progresses, their significance in the plot has been lessening gradually. Even though initially they were shown to be actually fighting, later their confrontation has become more of a commentary on Sukuna’s actions rather than a direct fight.
Even though Sukuna is the primary antagonist and an extremely interesting character in the series, fans were also curious about what Uraume and Hakari’s fight might bring to the table. Yet after so many chapters, their fight led to nowhere as the narrative has not returned to the battle between Hakari and Uraume, leaving fans in suspense about the outcome of their fight and their current status.
There has been growing anticipation for their unresolved battle outcome among fans, as they are hilariously expecting spin-offs revolved around them.
As the manga is currently focusing on the fierce battle sequences surrounding Sukuna, it is a debatable issue whether Akutami will dedicate a separate panel for the additional fights or not.
The Implications of Their Absence
Since their battle has been left ambiguous by Gege Akutami, fans are trying to explore the implications regarding this issue. It’s difficult to tell whether this has been done intentionally or it’s just a possible blunder from the end of the author themselves. It’s possible that Uraume is just being treated as a side villain in the series, or Akutami may have bigger plans for them. The fanbase is filled with mixed opinions on this theory.
The prolonged absence of Uraume and Hakari may cause a major plot hole while the Shinjuku battle approaches its climax. The battle between Hakari and Uraume, which began so much anticipation, has progressively lost its importance and is now mostly used as a plot device for assessing Sukuna’s actions rather than as a critical encounter in and of itself.
The fate of these characters and their relevance to the overall conflict remain unclear. So, if the series ends the Shinjuku battle without revisiting this fight, there could be a disconnection in the story.
Only time will tell whether their absence will be addressed by the author, or it will just become an obvious gap in an otherwise excellent story. However, the resolution of this issue will surely be critical in measuring the long-term success and coherence of the Jujutsu Kaisen series.
