In the long line of updates that the fandom has been receiving directly from DC Studios CEO James Gunn, another one has been added, and this is a major update, to say the least. Since each iteration of Superman has donned a different symbol on his suit in the films, the logo for the upcoming Superman: Legacy was recently shown to the public through the film’s table-read session.

The symbol, which is iconic in terms of the sheer popularity of the superhero across the globe, has always been a core part of the character’s appeal, which is the personification of Hope. Thus, this new logo will be donned by David Corenswet in the future when the proposed film is released.

But more than that, this logo in particular is a major hint at what to expect from the film, especially since this exact logo was used in the Kingdom Come arc of Superman’s lore from DC Comics.

To give you a brief idea of this particular arc, it’s famous for the superhero’s self-imposed exile from the world in the iconic Fortress of Solitude for a decade after the death of Lois Lane at the hands of The Joker. When the world is pushed into chaos by the infamous superhero Magog and his tyranny over justice, the Symbol of Hope is brought back into the fray by Wonder Woman to save Earth from self-destruction.

If this narrative is to be followed, we can surely expect many new faces and familiar ones in the upcoming film or somewhere down the line in the franchise, which can be huge if brought to the big screen.
