Deadpool & Wolverine hype has been on the horizon since the announcement of the movie (even before the title announcement). The biggest surprise for fans has to be Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine, despite the death of his character in the 2017 movie Logan. But convincing Jackman was not enough, Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy wanted a lot more for the movie.

It is not a secret anymore that Deadpool & Wolverine will be a cameo-packed movie with a package of action and adventure of the two iconic characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. A recent update of the movie suggested that Deadpool & Wolverine was in reshoot and a new report indicates why.

Deadpool & Wolverine has already teased several cameos including Lady Deathstrike (Kelly Hu) and Azazel (Jason Flemyng) as it seemed to appear in the trailer. However, a previous report indicated that Deadpool & Wolverine will have some reshoots in the month of May, just ahead of its official release in July.

A new report from scooper Daniel Richtman claims that the reshoots of the film are not because of the director’s lack of satisfaction with the narrative but a gateway for more potential cameos to be introduced in the movie.

“The ‘DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE’ reshoots are mostly about adding more cameos to the film. They’re satisfied with the story and won’t be changing anything,” the new report states (via MCU Film News).

The update has certainly omitted some concerns regarding the release of the movie, and while adding more cameos may not hurt the release date, but reshooting for major scenes at this stage would. Deadpool & Wolverine has maintained the hype well and with the MCU keeping only Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s film in their slate for the year (not counting Sony releases) makes it even more plausible for the movie to smash the box office.

Forget It, Cable’s Return Is Unlikely

Josh Brolin is very much eager to reprise his MCU role in Deadpool & Wolverine. Not Thanos, of course. The actor recently revealed that he would love to appear in the Shawn Levy-directed movie but he has always been baffled by the MCU’s tactics, despite the actor playing Infinity Saga’s big bad for the studio.

Brolin’s Deadpool 2 character, Cable was well received by fans and critics, and alongside astounding cameos, fans would want to see the cool character in the new MCU film. Unfortunately, Cable is too far away from the trailers. Still, the actor is listed on the IMDb page of the movie. “Am I?” Brolin asked the Bingeworthy TV Podcast host when he was informed about his IMDb listing (via The Playlist).

“Yeeeeesssss! I so wanted to be in that movie… [Marvel] is a more complex labyrinth than Outer Range will ever be, my friend. And I will never know where that went or what that is or what I’m involved with or what I’m not involved with —the MCU being involved now. Cable was a lot of fun. I really liked doing that role. That was a lot of fun.”

Brolin is now on a promotional tour for his Western sci-fi Prime Video show Outer Range. Judging by his comments on his return, it is almost certain that Cable’s appearance in the movie is slim to none, despite the ongoing reshoot.

Deadpool & Wolverine is slated for July 26 release.
