FromSoftware released its open-world RPG Elden Ring back in 2022, and though it was highly anticipated, no one in the gaming industry could have expected just how earth-shattering it would become. Upon its release, it was praised for its immense enemy variety, boss designs, and stunning open world. Continuing off the success of previous Dark Souls and Bloodborne titles, Elden Ring is the ultimate culmination of everything FromSoftware has learned in the past decade, with the title all set to become even more exciting this month.

Elden Ring is ready to receive its first and only expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, this month, and fans eagerly anticipate their chance to return to The Lands Between. While it’s confirmed that we’ll see new bosses, weapons, areas, and features, the DLC is all set to replace the troublesome Grafted Scion with a boss that’s more deadly than Fire Giant.

Shadow of the Erdtree’s New Boss Is More Deadly Than Fire Giant

Grafted Scion is truly an iconic boss in Elden Ring. It’s one of the first bosses you’ll ever encounter in the game and is quite challenging to beat. Eliminating it early on is quite literally impossible because the game doesn’t give you any healing items. However, this is an optional boss, and facing it won’t affect any end of the game whatsoever.

Elden Ring’s upcoming Shadow of the Erdtree features a brand-new boss that works similarly to Grafted Scion. However, this boss is ten times more terrifying and makes the Fire Giant look like an ordinary boss.

It’s a known fact that Fire Giant is one of the hardest bosses in Elden Ring ever, who easily stamp out hasty players with ease. It’s truly surprising that game director Hidetaka Miyazaki and his team have managed to outdo themselves yet again.

After playtesting and encountering the brand-new boss, one of the most popular Elden Ring YouTubers, VaatiVidya, said there was no way to damage the new creature.

This boss takes like no damage, and I think you’d probably be better off fighting him later on.

Like the Grafted Scion, players can skip this Fire Cauldron Giant boss and return to it whenever they’re prepared. Although it seems to be a test boss, giving players a glimpse of what to expect in the expansion, it’s still meant to be taken seriously. The fact that it quite literally doesn’t take any damage puts it leagues above Fire Giant, which means players need to gear up properly before going up against this menace.

How Long is Elden Ring‘s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC?

The upcoming release of Elden Ring‘s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is right around the corner, and many players can’t wait to see what Hidetaka Miyazaki and his team have in store. The base game was already an enormous fantasy adventure that crammed huge amounts of narrative and combat into its open world, so it’s natural for many to wonder how long the expansion is going to be.

It’s already been confirmed by various reliable insiders that Shadow of the Erdtree is going to be around 30-40 hours. This isn’t surprising, considering the amount of content the expansion will add to the game. Shadow of the Erdtee plans to completely revolutionize the Elden Ring experience and make its mark in gaming history.
