As the Elden Ring community bides its time while waiting for the arrival of the new Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, a few talented individuals have been supplying a plethora of fun and interesting mods to keep their fellow Tarnished entertained.
After the expansive Garden of Eyes mod made waves around the community, now it’s a Tekken 8-themed mod. By bringing Yoshimitsu from the world of Tekken to The Lands Between, players with the mod can experience Elden Ring in a whole new way.
Play as a Space Ninja While You Wait for the Elden Ring DLC
In a surprising fusion of gaming worlds, a Tekken fan and modder, tchjay92, has brought the iconic character Yoshimitsu to life in Elden Ring. The Yoshimitsu set mod brings his entire look into the game, including his iconic katana. The mod seamlessly replaces the look of the Beast Champion set and the Uchigatana, as seen in the video of the creator showcasing the mod.
In the showcase, tchjay92 is using the Carian Combo Warrior mod move set to add extra flair. Needless to say, fans were super impressed with the mod. Some called for the making of a Souls-like that featured the iconic Tekken character:
I would buy a Yoshimitsu/Kunimitsu Souls game instantly. Remaster Nina’s Death by Degrees as well and Namco could make a killing by using the cast for different genres.
A few others made a hilarious comparison to Vergil from Devil May Cry 5, terming the character “Vergilitsu.” The mod is one of many that brings characters from other franchises into the demigod-ridden world in which Elden Ring takes place.
Players can play as Vergil, Guts from Berserk, 2B from Nier: Automata, Darth Vader from Star Wars, Madara Uchiha from Naruto, and other iconic fictional characters—you name it, there’s probably a mod for it. Some of these mods are more than just cosmetics and introduce new move sets into the title, giving hardcore fans another excuse to replay the whole game (as if the list wasn’t already exhaustive enough).
When Will the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC Be Released?
It’s been nearly two years since FromSoftware released the iconic Souls-like game and a year since the announcement of the DLC.
Last year, trademarks for the game changed, and FromSoftware became the sole owner, which led to speculation regarding the future of Elden Ring and Shadow of the Erdtree. However, we’ve yet to see what changes could come from the move.
Fans are desperate to see any news regarding the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, with a release date being at the top of the list of concerns. The community has been lively regardless, with tons of mods, theories, and discourse around the game continuing.
