There’s no doubt that modders are having a field day with Ghost of Tushima’s release. The community has managed to create more than 35 mods for the game in just a few days. While that’s all great, many players enjoying the PC port have now stumbled upon an old video that features Star Wars’ iconic Lightsaber weapon in Ghost of Tsushima.

If Ghost of Tsushima had a Lightsaber Mod

The edited video brings a new twist to Ghost of Tsushima by replacing regular katanas with powerful Lightsabers from the Star Wars universe. This was one of the highly requested mods that players wished to see when the game launched on PS4, with many saying, “This is EXACTLY what new game+ needs to add.” It’s a shame that the developers brought this mod to the game.

However, with Ghost of Tushima‘s release on PC, it’s finally possible for the modders to do the job and bring Lightsabers into the game. There are various ways to implement Lightsabers in the game, such as dividing them between different acts or restricting them for specific missions. Modders can even bring different colors for Lightsabers and add sound details for turning them on and off.

There are endless possibilities for a Lightsaber mod in Ghost of Tsushima. While it’s unlikely that the developers will ever collaborate with the iconic franchise to bring the weapon to the game, it’s up to modders to lead the way and add this Star Wars mod.

Ghost of Tsushima Beats God of War’s PC Player Record

Ghost of Tsushima beats God of War record | Steam

Right after Ghost of Tsushima smashed Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered player count, it also surpassed God of War. On May 19th, the game hit 77,154 concurrent Steam players, beating the record set by 2022 God of War, according to data complied by SteamDB.

Helldivers 2 is the only PlayStation-published title with a higher player peak, boasting 458,709 current players on Steam shortly after its debut. However, with the hit shooter being made independently by Arrowhead Games Studios, Ghost of Tsushima still holds the bragging rights for being the biggest-ever launch in the history of PlayStation’s PC ports.

It”s surprising to see Ghost of Tushima’s success, considering Sony delisted the game in more than 170 countries and regions before its release. Had that not happened, the Samurai ARPG title would’ve beaten the 2022 God of War by even higher numbers.
