This is really hard for me to admit as an actor, but I just watched him in Stranger Things, so Eddie Munson was very much on my brain when I met him, and we had a rehearsal, and he was not like Eddie Munson at all.

Nyong’o was disappointed with this, thinking “Oh my god, he’s such a different man from the man he played” but she was quick to catch herself and evaluate her thoughts. “I’m like, of course, he’s a different man. He’s an actor,” she quipped.

The actress said she was “taken by how focused he was, dedicated, very gracious in our first encounter” despite her expectations of him immediately shattered. While speaking with ET Online, she said they got along quite easily.

It surprised me how easy we got along. We took a lot of trust to make a film like this because there is no dialogue, so you have to be kinda in tune with each other, you have to listen, you have to be perceptive and really be able to pick up what the other person is putting down.

The nature of the movie helped them learn each other’s body language which is definitely cool. “I think making this film together was an intimate experience that we really enjoyed,” Nyong’o confessed. She also called Quinn “a very open, generous, funny person.
