This notion of a quiet New York is one that will arrest many. It’s an impossible thing to imagine. When you live there, you block out all the sound quite naturally. You just forget to hear the sound. I realized how hard it would be to survive in a world that required you to be silent in that particular city.”

The movie hinges on the power of sound and silence. The aliens that invaded the Earth, called the Death Angels, are naturally set off by any noise. When they get triggered, they attack the source. Indeed, a bustling city like New York would be their nightmare.

Djimon Hounsou previously talked about his character during an interview with Screen Rant. The actor remains quiet about the particulars of his role, which truly makes him the most intriguing part of the movie.
