Chris Hemsworth has been collecting science-fiction franchises like Infinity Stones. He started with his iconic role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, then made his way through franchises like Men in Black, Mad Max, Ghostbusters, and even Star Trek. The most recent addition to the seemingly ever-growing list was the Transformers series.
Voicing the beloved character of Optimus Prime, alongside Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson, and Keegan-Michael Key, the cast of Transformers One is certainly full of well-known faces. However, as the trailer for the film just dropped, fans cannot help but feel disappointed.
Not believing their eyes, it would seem that one of the biggest problems that the MCU is facing in recent years has followed Hemsworth and Johansson into the Transformers universe. Many fans have complained that the movie is far too unserious and feels almost childlike, a criticism Marvel is tired of hearing.
Chris Hemsworth’s Transformers One Releases Its Trailer
Recently, the trailer for Chris Hemsworth’s Transformers One was released, and it certainly seems to stand out from the rest of the series. Following the very origin of the core characters, the film shows the journey of Optimus Prime and his friends on the planet Cybertron, as well as exploring the relationship he had with Megatron before they parted ways.

While the story sounds extremely serious, the trailer shows that the creators took a very different approach to its story. The franchise and its fans have a uniform, unsaid theme that has been followed since the very beginning of the series; everything is quite serious. Although there are jokes here and there, the characters, be Autobots or humans, all possess a very solemn presence.
This is why audiences were extremely surprised to see the trailer for the film and realize that it had adopted a theme of childish humor and had a very comedic tone.
Transformed Into Something Childish
As soon as the trailer was released online, fans were quick to voice their feelings of anger. It would seem that such a drastic change in their childhood icons is something they will not let slide easily. Many fans were upset that the origin story, which has been sought after for years, was not taken seriously by the studio and instead turned into a comedy film.
This is not what we asked for
We wanted the Cybertron origin story to be taken seriously
Not like this 😭🤮— B (@1prime00) April 18, 2024
You are lying this is the movie they made LOL. They need to throw the whole thing away and start over. My goodness this looks like something that should be on Cartoon Network with a budget of like $4.

Another fan stated that the negative feedback that the movie was getting should be enough to make the creators want to go back and make the whole thing from scratch again. Others pointed out how the movie feels more targeted at a younger audience than the fans that they have, who are much older.
Is this for real?

It's horrible. Whoever the creative team behind this film is needs to be fired. This isn't Transformers. It's an MCU film with Transformers in it 🙄

One fan even added the MCU into the equation, mentioning how the film feels more like the movies Marvel has been putting out in recent years than one from the Transformers franchise. It is safe to say that the response the movie is getting is not good.
