Scarlett Johansson‘s Black Widow will forever be remembered by Marvel fans. While many miss seeing her in action, Johansson is ready to move on to the next chapter of her career by joining the Transformers franchise. Starring alongside her good friend and Marvel co-star Chris Hemsworth, Johansson will be taking one of the lead roles in the franchise’s first animated film in decades, Transformers One.

The first look of the movie was revealed just days ago at CinemaCon, with the presentation revealing an extended trailer of the film as well as the first scene of the movie in 3D. Although Johansson was not present, since she was busy working on her directorial debut project, the actress sent a recorded video.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, the actress stated,

“I’m so incredibly proud of the work that we’ve all done… [The upcoming movie will be] unlike anything you’ve ever seen onscreen.”

Starring as the transformer Elita-1, this would be the actress’ first time in such a role. While the We Bought a Zoo star looked excited in the video message, her co-stars Hemsworth and Brian Tyree Henry too were apparently brimming with confidence.

Chris Hemsworth, just like Johansson, will be starring in the upcoming Transformers One. Portraying the younger version of Optimus Prime named Orion Pax, the actor looked pretty enthusiastic about the movie. As per THR, Hemsworth stated that fans can expect to see a new side of his character that has never been seen before on the screen.

Also paying tribute to the actor Peter Cullen, who for decades has voiced Optimus Prime, the extraction star stated how Cullen taught the world strength, gentleness, and compassion. Set in the transformer’s home planet called Cybertron, it would be a true treat to witness the two Marvel stars don their new roles within the Transformers universe.

Described by Paramount as the long-awaited origin story of how the most iconic characters in the Transformers universe, Orion Pax and D-16, went from brothers-in-arms to become sworn enemies, Optimus Prime and Megatron, the movie also stars Brian Tyree Henry as the young Megatron aka D-16.

With Steven Spielberg as one of the executive producers, Transformers One will be released on September 13, 2024.
