T.J. Miller is best known for his work alongside Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool as the bartender Weasel, but before that, he first collaborated with Michael Bay on the Transformers franchise, Age of Extinction. After his experience there, the actor did not seem eager enough to work with the director anymore.

The same goes for his situation with Reynolds. It was reported that he had a beef with the latter while on the set of Deadpool.

T.J. Miller On His Strange Experience Working With Transformers Director Michael Bay

During his guesting on Doug Loves Movies podcast, comedian star T.J. Miller shared his ugly experience working with director Michael Bay on the set of Transformers: Age of Extinction. He recalled having the weirdest experience ever that made him refuse to work with the filmmaker on future films.

He has a specific way of communicating with people. Once he said to me, ‘Nothing that you’ve said is funny T.J.! Not one thing all day! We hired you to be funny! There’s 300 people here! None of them are laughing at you! Say something funny! I can still cut you out of the movie!’ And I said, ‘Michael, I would love that because then I would be able to leave right this instant!’

Miller played Lucas Flannery, a friend and business partner of Mark Wahlberg’s Cade Yeager. The character met a very brutal end after earning the most undignified death at the hands of Cybertronian bounty hunter, Lockdown. Flannery was carbonized after getting hit by one of his grenades.

The actor then recalled how Bay almost forgot his nasty remarks from earlier after he invited Miller for some snacks after filming.

The second the cameras stopped rolling, he would say, ‘Hey, do you wanna get sushi and grab drinks?’ It was a very bipolar experience.”

It looks like Miller was so confused and weirded out of the situation that he no longer wants to work with Bay, perhaps to avoid future strange encounters.

Weasel may be Wade Wilson’s best friend in Deadpool, but T.J. Miller and Ryan Reynolds were not exactly on good terms on the movie set, as revealed by Miller on The Adam Carolla Show.

As the character, he was, like, horrifically mean to me. But to me. As if I’m Weasel. He was like, ‘You know what’s great about you, Weasel? You’re not the star, but you do just enough exposition that it’s funny, and then we can leave and get back to the real movie.’

Miller admits not holding any grudge against Reynolds, and at the time of interview, he thought his former co-star should push through with his plans for Deadpool 3.

I don’t wish them any ill will. I think [Reynolds] should make a Deadpool 3 and continue to make movies. I just think he doesn’t like me, and I thought it was weird how he expressed that.”

Reynolds reached out to Miller after learning this, and the latter confirmed that they just settled it once and for all through an email message.
