For months, Henry Cavill has been rumored to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in several different roles and franchises, and the latest one has definitely set the Internet ablaze. A known industry scooper has confirmed that the Man of Steel actor will appear in Deadpool 3.
This sounds more like a fan fiction story, but the scooper stated that Cavill will show up as a multiverse variant of Wolverine. The character will also be donning a “long brown coat,” as per the source.
Henry Cavill Reportedly Debuting In The MCU As Wolverine
Giant Freakin Robot was the source of this rumor with Henry Cavill finally making his debut in the MCU. For the past couple of months, the world wide web has been full of speculations that the former DCEU actor will play Captain Britain or Doctor Doom. Fans have also been lobbying for this.
The same source assured fans, though, that despite the actor’s cameo in Deadpool and Wolverine, he can still show up as another hero (or villain) in other MCU franchises. Interestingly, Cavill’s Wolverine will reportedly be a one-off.
But since this is not an official announcement from Marvel Studios, fans should still take this rumor with a grain of salt. The insider’s track record in the past has been quite a hit-and-miss so there’s really no certainty.
In any case, fans are already deeply invested in this concept. Many have seen the potential of Cavill playing Wolverine even if it is only a variant, and people will be absolutely devastated if this does not become a reality.
The rumor has been circulating online for as early as 2020, and many have seen a lot of artwork and fan-made videos where Cavill stuns as Wolverine, so it is safe to say that, if the actor indeed shows up in Deadpool and Wolverine, his cameo was a long time coming.

In the wake of Robert Downey Jr.’s exit from the MCU, fans were still mourning the death of Tony Stark, so the rumor of Cruise playing the invincible hero even as a variant gave them hope that they would see Iron Man once again.
Of course, it did not happen, and it was one of the most upsetting things about the movie. The film’s writer, Michael Waldron, once revealed to SYFY that he originally wanted to bring the Top Gun actor to the MCU, but his jam-packed schedule did not permit him.
If the report is true about Cavill finally making his entrance into the MCU via Deadpool and Wolverine, then it is positively a whole new era for the actor as he officially becomes a Marvel star.
