Recent updates have taken a troubling turn, as they suggest Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness screenwriter, Michael Waldron who was set to write the script, has departed from the project.

Michael Waldron Is Reportedly No Longer Attached to Avengers 5!
Marvel’s knack for swapping directors and writers might seem like their signature style at this point, but the aftermath can be seen in some strange edits and questionable dialogue choices in the films.
However, amidst the chaos, Michael Waldron known for his work on Loki Season 1 and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, was brought in. His primary task was to rescue Avengers 5 after Jeff Loveness departed from the project. Interestingly, Waldron wasn’t the initial writer attached to the film. And it seems that Waldron too has left the project according to Nexus Point News reports.
Avengers 5, originally known as The Kang Dynasty when it was first announced in July 2022, has faced a whirlwind of changes and challenges. First, they lost Destin Daniel-Cretton, the Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director, who was set to direct this one as well.
Then, Jeff Loveness, known for his work on Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, was reportedly fired as the writer. Jonathan Majors, who was set to play the main villain, has also been removed from the project following his guilty verdict in a misdemeanor assault and harassment case against his ex-girlfriend.
Yet, uncertainty looms over Waldron’s involvement. There are murmurs about whether Marvel was satisfied with his draft of Avengers 5 and if they might bring in someone else to polish it up. Despite these uncertainties, Waldron remains firmly attached to Avengers: Secret Wars.
Marvel Fans Are Very Worried About Avengers 5
Fans are genuinely concerned, especially after hearing about the recent setbacks in a project they held high hopes for. They fear it might end up like the Ant-Man situation, with too many heads on board. Marvel, however, is putting in extra effort to ensure everything falls into place, going to great lengths to salvage the project.
