Red One, the Christmas movie that would bring about a whole new collab of Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans sharing the screen, has been on fans’ bucket list for a long, long time now. For one confirmed more than two years ago in 2021, the movie has been facing delays for quite some time now, considering how it was initially reported to film in 2022 and get a holiday release this year, i.e. in 2023.
However, fans are finally in for a confirmed release date for the Johnson-Evans collaboration movie through a recently announced major update, although it is a bit too far away: in November 2024.
Dwayne Johnson & Chris Evans’ Red One Finally Gets A Release Date
After the numerous delays that the movie had been facing, Red One has finally landed on a release date along with another major update: it will no longer be sent directly to streaming, as was previously decided, but instead, will have a theatrical release on the 15th of November, 2024.

The upcoming Christmas action-adventure comedy will star Dwayne Johnson as Callum Drift while Chris Evans will be seen as Jack O’Malley, with J.K. Simmons and Bonnie Hunt reportedly playing Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
Although the storyline of the much-anticipated movie has been kept strictly under wraps, Johnson reportedly described it via his Instagram handle @therock as:
“Our movie is a big, fun, action-packed, and fresh new take on Christmas Lore. Think JUMANJI meets MIRACLE ON 34TH ST meets HOBBS & SHAW with a dash of HARRY POTTER and sprinkled on top with my all-time favorite Christmas movie, IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE…”
Red One is produced by Seven Bucks Productions and Amazon MGM Studios, and its script has been co-written by Chris Morgan (famous for his work on Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6, and Furious 7) and directed by Jake Kasdan (renowned for helming films like the Jumanji reboot sequels).
Considering all these above-listed facts, it seems that fans can expect something of a comedic yet adventurous cultural clash between the real and the fantasy world in the upcoming film—exciting!
Despite Further Delay, Fans Haven’t Lost Hope With Red One
Since Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans’ collaboration Christmas movie Red One reportedly concluded filming in 2022, fans were eagerly awaiting its arrival in 2023 on Amazon Prime Video, as was previously decided.
