Anticipation for Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s Deadpool & Wolverine has been at its peak ever since the stars announced the movie. The excitement also took a height when the on-set pictures of the movie revealed Jackman’s look in the movies. Despite portraying the character since the 2000 film X-Men, Jackman has never donned the mutant superhero’s iconic costume.
And the upcoming film does feature him in the classic yellow and blue suit straight from the comics. While fans rejoiced at this faithful adaptation, Wolverine’s ensemble lacked one crucial element: his mask. However, a visual artist has made efforts to add the missing piece by recreating clips from the trailer, completing the iconic look.
Visual Artist Completes Wolverine’s Iconic Look in Deadpool & Wolverine
Deadpool & Wolverine features Hugh Jackman as a variant of Wolverine, who, unlike his previous appearances in Fox’s X-Men franchise, is seen sporting the classic and iconic comic-accurate suit.
While the movie faithfully captures the essence of the yellow costume, something that fans missed in the trailers and teasers for the upcoming film has been his cowl. Visual artist Taran Singh resolved the issue in a recreation of the clip by adding the cowl to Jackman’s Wolverine through special effects.
“AND HERE IT IS! DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE trailer but Wolverine wears his iconic cowl,” he shared on X (Twitter). Fans rejoiced at the iconic look finally coming together on-screen, with one X (Twitter) user even suggesting, “This should be in the real movie.”

They'll 100% show him in the full suit once.
I expect it'll be a flashback. He probably lost the helmet in the battle that destroyed his world.

Expectations are high for seeing the full Wolverine ensemble in the film, with some fans speculating, “I expect it’ll be a flashback. He probably lost the helmet in the battle that destroyed his world.” While it remains uncertain, rumors have suggested that Wolverine could wear his iconic mask in the movie.
Shawn Levy Says No ‘Homework’ Required for Deadpool & Wolverine
Over the past years, the MCU has introduced several characters and stories in multiple films and TV shows. While navigating the vast MCU can pose a challenge for newcomers, filmmaker Shawn Levy has shared that Deadpool & Wolverine does not require fans to catch up on the expansive lore of the MCU.
“I was a good student in school. I’ll do my homework as an adult. But I am definitely not looking to do homework when I go to the movies,” Levy told the Associated Press. He also shared that with the upcoming film, he sought to cater to both existing fans and newcomers.
“This movie is built for entertainment, with no obligation to come prepared with prior research,” he said. The film marks the eagerly awaited reunion of Ryan Reynolds and Jackman’s respective characters on the silver screen since their last appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Deadpool & Wolverine is set to release on July 26, 2024.
