Marvel Once Fired a Crewmate Over Just One Tweet!

During an interview promoting Endgame, Ruffalo delved into the extreme measures Marvel Studios takes to safeguard their secrets. MCU films thrive on surprises and Easter eggs scattered throughout, connecting their multiversal story.  Therefore, even the tiniest leak can spoil the fun for avid MCU fans, revealing the carefully crafted storyline on screen. Known for its special cameo surprises, the superhero movie studio goes to great lengths to protect its secrets.

So, Ruffalo shared an incident where a crewmate got fired for tweeting plot details from the set which undoubtedly went viral. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, he said,

“There was an air-quality guy who was Twittering from set. He’s like, ‘Oh, Thor just kicked the sh— out of an alien, I guess there are aliens…,’ and literally in 15 minutes the guy went from like 20 followers to like 150,000 followers. It just blasted into the blogosphere. Our security detail scans the internet for leaks, and in half an hour they had him totally clamped up. Basically we fired him and let him out. It was crazy. Studios probably spend a million dollars trying to keep all this secret.”

Marvel’s security measures have always been strict. It has opted several sly tricks, from handing out false scripts as Tom Holland time and again has stated, or having lines blacked out from the script to prevent accidental spoilers, to private screenings over public ones, all in order to reduce the risk of leaking. Furthermore, Marvel also has a secretive, leak-hunt team tasked with, as their name suggests, hunting down any leaks, all as a measure to ensure fans have an absolutely wonderful time at the cinemas

All The Times Mark Ruffalo Hilariously Spoiled MCU Movies Despite Heavy Security!

The irony of the situation is the actor playing the mighty Hulk is the weakest link when it comes to spoiler leaks. Even with all the precautions in place, there’s just no stopping him from accidentally letting slip movie plot details in a hilarious way. There have been numerous little incidents where the actor has unintentionally leaked many secrets.

One such incident happened during the premiere of Thor: Ragnarok in October 2017, when Mark Ruffalo unintentionally live-streamed about 20 minutes of the movie’s audio to 2,500 followers on Facebook. He was later asked by a Marvel executive to turn off the stream which he was totally unaware about.

Mark Ruffalo at another time also spoiled the ending of Avengers: Infinity War at D23 (via GMA). When questioned about the ending of Thor: Ragnarok, Ruffalo teasingly hinted, “Like every other Marvel superhero movie, it doesn’t end well for the superheroes.” To make matters worse, he followed up by joking, “Wait until you see the next one. Ha – everybody dies! Well, half.”

The funniest part is that these incidents weren’t the only ones, the list hilariously goes on and on and on.
