The Marvel Cinematic Universe has some of the most devoted fans in the entire world. James Gunn, who is renowned for his witty comments and teasers on social media, is undoubtedly one of the funniest directors. In both the DCEU and MCU, he has contributed to some of the best projects. For the former, examples include The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker, and for the latter, the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise.

The 56-year-old filmmaker’s last release was his third and final installment of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU.

Because the fan bases of Marvel and DC are frequently at odds, the director had a difficult time satisfying both the disgruntled DC fans and settling the score. And especially this time, right after he claimed that the Guardians of the Galaxy films can easily defeat The Avengers.

This will be Gunn’s first significant endeavor as co-CEO of DC Studios, which will depict the beginning of his professional life in Metropolis. For the unversed, the filmmaker has left his work with Marvel Studios in the past because he is now a full-time co-CEO at DC Studios.

However, it does not mean that he has finished talking about the Marvel Studios characters.

How Did The Fans React After James Gunn’s Comment?

For the benefit of those who may not be familiar, the Guardians of the Galaxy films are a group of outcast heroes that consists of Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot. They can defeat even the most formidable foes, thanks to their special combination of abilities and unbreakable bonds.

Meanwhile, The Avengers are made up of some of the most well-known Marvel characters, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and the Hulk, to name just a few. They have also proven to be a powerful force, preventing the end of the world on many occasions.
