The woes of Helldivers with automatons seem to have no end. The Automatons who have continued to capture Super Earth and other planets in Helldivers 2 have been bothersome for players since the very beginning.
So much that Helldivers have on multiple occasions come together to liberate planets from their clutch. Recently, the developers announced the resurgence of another group of automatons in the game, adding to the already existing struggles of players with the foes.
Factory Striders are back in Helldivers 2
Helldivers 2 officially announced via a tweet earlier today that the Factory Striders “have made a resurgence on the Automaton front.” They also shared a video that has an oncoming horde of the machines. These seem to be built like Star Wars’ AT-ATs, having some serious armor plating and mean-looking machine guns that are fitted under their cockpits.

For the unknown, the Factory Strider in Helldivers 2 is an AT-AT-style Automaton walker that is seen on the battlefield usually stomping around shooting up Helldivers. They even spawn other enemies sometimes. They were earlier stealth-dropped into the PlayStation 5 and PC co-op shooter, however it seemed to be a test. But now they are officially in the game according to Arrowhead.
When the Factory Striders are left long enough, they can produce bots of their own. This essentially means that even spawning one of these can turn a mission on its head. To date, their occurrence has been rare. However, now the Factory Striders would be seen more frequently.
Although Striders were initially all but limited to the highest difficulty level, now they are appearing at lower level as well.
Players need these three Stratagems in Hellivers 2
Now that the Factory Striders have officially resurged in the game, Helldivers have expressed their desire to have more stratagems to fight these. Players believe three stratagems could particularly come in handy to fight the striders.
These include:
Bridge: Neuro-enhancing Stims
This could including call down a 4-pack of stims that can grant players 10% bonus movement speed, 25% bonus reload speed, and 25% damage reduction for 120 seconds.
Engineering: Satchel Charges
This could be similar to the satchel charges seen in the first game. It could come with big damage but can also be risky due to range. This stratagem could have great potential to die for Democracy.
Robotics: Hunter-killer droids
With a call down 5-10 spider droids, these could be little bots with explosives that have the ability to seek out enemies and detonate on them for good damage. These could be just like the minefield, but more active and less prone to poor placement at the cost of fewer bots/longer cooldown.
It must be noted these stratagems do not actually exist in Helldivers 2 and are merely suggestions.
