Welp. One point goes to Sentry while the other goes to The Void (will talk about it later). Meanwhile, rumors have begun to circulate that The Sentry will allegedly be nerfed in the upcoming MCU film Thunderbolts*!

Hundreds of comic book characters follow the “no-kill rule”. It’s a convoluted concept that is quite difficult to understand but roughly translates to “Don’t kill anyone”. Well, rumors state that The Sentry will follow the no-kill rule in Thunderbolts*, and fans are confused.

The Sentry Will Follow The Rule That Zack Snyder Hates

There’s a certain happiness found when merging and comparing Marvel and the DCEU/DCU. In the DC Comics, Batman and Superman have a no-kill rule that they follow with their whole heart.

However, when Zack Snyder stepped up to the director’s chair, the rules of the game changed. In Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel, Snyder proved that he wasn’t one to shy away from breaking the rules when he had Superman snap General Zod’s neck during the finale of the movie.

In 2016, Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice also received much criticism for showcasing multiple scenes where Batman is shown killing criminals. Quite contrary to Snyder, a report by notable insider @DanielRPK stated that the character of Sentry will follow the no-kill rule in Thunderbolts*.

Some fans trolled the decision while others supported it. Having a no-kill rule certainly makes the character upright and honorable (looking at you, Homelander) but it also feels frustrating to watch a criminal go scot-free.

That’s why, there’s a twist in the tale. Inspired by Marvel Comics, there’s a Fight Club level twist in the character of The Sentry and the no-kill rule might not apply to everyone.

There’s a Fight Club Level Twist In The Tale!

For those of you who have seen Fight Club, you know what we are talking about. For those of you who haven’t seen it yet: go watch it. Tyler Durden and The Narrator are the same person and that story is very relatable for The Sentry.

When Robert Reynolds injects a special serum, he gets the power of a thousand exploding suns. However, he also gets a split personality disorder with the other part called The Void. The Sentry is the good guy who wants to genuinely help people (like Superman).

The Void, on the other hand, is merciless, ruthless, and has a hatred for all sentient life (like Homelander). The tweet specifically mentions that The Sentry will follow the no-kill rule, but what about The Void?

So even though The Sentry might not kill anyone, the same cannot be said about The Void. It’s as if Superman and Homelander were two personalities of the same person. It would be a plain nightmare.

With Florence Pugh, Harrison Ford, and, Sebastian Stan in the mix, Thunderbolts* is one of the most awaited MCU films of all time. The movie is set for a release date of 5th May, 2025 in theaters across the U.S.
