In the midst of promoting their upcoming film Dune: Part Two, co-stars Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, known for being close friends, revealed a surprising similarity in their early careers during a recent interview. Both actors confessed to having YouTube channels growing up. However, it was a surprising revelation from Timothée Chalamet that caught Zendaya off guard.
The embarrassment occurred due to a video from over a decade ago, featuring the teenage Zendaya on YouTube, leaving the Euphoria star feeling flustered.
Timothée Chalamet’s Unexpected Find Flustered Zendaya
The Dune stars Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, and Florence Pugh recently sat down with Vogue. As the trio discussed some interesting facts, their first meeting along with their progress through the Dune book series, Chalamet found one pamphlet including a snippet of Zendaya’s teenage self from the first video she had shared on her YouTube channel 13 years ago.
“I’m gonna do this one again, ’cause I like this,” Chalamet said before adding, “Can either of you tell me what this still is from?” The revelation of the snippet from her first YouTube video left the Emmy-winning actress visibly flustered. “Oh God, no,” she exclaimed, hastily covering the picture and urging to proceed with the interview.
However, despite that, she advised her co-stars to look for it if they would “ever like to just laugh.” Zendaya’s YouTube has been active since she started it in 2010 and shared a video welcoming her audience. She described her YouTube channel as a “place for happy smiley faces and lots of love and dancing.”
Along with The Greatest Showman actress, Timothee Chalamet also shared that he too has a YouTube channel, named ModdedController360. He shared that he used to spray paint the game controllers. However, Chalamet did not seem as flustered as his co-star.
Zendaya Explained What Went Behind Her First YouTube Video
Zendaya has her first big break in the Disney show Shake It Up. Starring alongside Bella Thorne, she portrayed the role of Rocky Blue, a girl who loves dancing. Reacting to her first-ever YouTube video, the actress shared that at the time she believed that she had to create a persona similar to her character Rocky.
She further shared how she was trying to create a positive environment and prepared the script with one of her school friends. The 27-year-old actress shared that she even came up with a slogan, “Don’t forget to smile.” However, the actress does not seem too fond of her teenage YouTube persona anymore.
“This is back when I literally had an entire alter ego ellipsis,” she said before adding, “This is the most annoying **** I’ve ever seen in my entire life.” The actress has since used the platform for her songs and music videos. She is all set to reprise her role as Chani in the sequel to the 2021 sci-fi action film.
Dune: Part Two is set to release on March 1, 2024
