Ever since the fans got a whiff that Tom Holland may not be the only Spider-Man in the last film of the series in the MCU, they were beyond giddy with the excitement of watching Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprise their roles as different versions of the web-slinger from the multiverse. And with the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, they didn’t disappoint.
Their involvement in the project was the major reason why the film became the most successful Spider-Man film in history. Not only that, but they may also save the MCU wth replacing Jonathan Majors as Kang in the franchise. Since the film’s Multiversal lore proved that variants can look entirely different from each other, Marvel Studios may use this to replace the current face of the big bad.
How Andrew Garfield And Tobey Maguire Can Enable Marvel Studios To Replace Jonathan Majors As Kang
With the recent controversy surrounding Jonathan Majors, the man cast to play the next big adversary of MCU‘s superhero roster named Kang The Conquerer, Marvel Studios have taken a step back from their grand vision. As the star tries to prove his innocence on the domestic abuse allegations he has been charged with, the company seemingly wants to get away from all that negative press.
Thus, many fans believed we may soon see a different villain for the heroes of the cinematic juggernaut to go against. But the multiversal hop of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield in Spider-Man: No Way Home might enable the MCU to just change Kang‘s face.

The public witnessed the arrival of both the previous generations of the friendly neighborhood superhero in the last MCU Spider-Man film featuring Tom Holland, where both the stars were introduced as different variants of Peter Parker from the Multiverse. But one peculiar thing about them, which differentiated the variants of Kang as seen in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, was they looked different from Holland‘s version.
Assuming this was not an oversight in the grand narrative of the entire MCU, it was proved that not every single variant of an individual would necessarily have to look the same in existence. This opens the door for Marvel Studios to change the current face of Kang in the franchise, and thus, replace the Creed III star with someone else entirely.

Who May Entirely Replace Kang The Conquerer In The MCU?
While the options of just replacing Majors as Kang in the MCU are on the table, Kevin Feige may decide to ditch the narrative of the supervillain entirely in pursuit of someone new.
If that happens to be the case, then there still are a lot of characters from the comics who can fill in those shoes. For one, there have been strong rumors suggesting Sacha Baron Cohen may be joining the franchise as Mephisto in the upcoming MCU miniseries Ironheart. Those familiar with the lore may know just how integral the character is in the comics, which makes him a viable candidate.
Along with him, the upcoming Fantastic Four film in the franchise may also introduce Doctor Doom to the MCU, who can also give Kang a run for his money as per the comics.
