Tom Cavanagh who played Reverse-Flash in the CW series The Flash, is now ready to jump ship to DC. The actor made his return to the CW show for its series finale and the actor recently revealed that he is willing to appear in James Gunn’s new DC universe.
Reverse Flash is one of the wonderful additions to the world of Barry Allen in CW, the fitting nemesis to the Speedster. However, as the show has reached the final end, new reports suggest that Cavanagh is not over playing the character.
Will Tom Cavanagh Join DCU As Reverse Flash?
James Gunn’s DCU revamp created opportunities for many actors as he intends to change the entire atmosphere. The DC boss has already sidelined the mainline DC hero actors including Superman actor Henry Cavill and Batman star Ben Affleck from Snyderverse.
Now, with the revamp, the space for new actors and unexplored characters is seemingly higher and that means the iconic Barry Allen nemesis might appear in the Superhero brand in the near future.
Tom Cavanagh who played Eobard Thawne a.k.a. Reverse-Flash is rooting for a pie in the game in Gunn’s new DC. As per a recent report, Cavanaugh revealed that he “would love” to reprise his role in DC under Gunn and Peter Safran’s mentorship.
However, the DC boss has no plans for The Flash or any other characters related to the Speedster and that includes Thawne. It would be nice for many fans to see Cavanagh in DCU as the villain but for Gunn, it is unlikely that he would go close to Flash anytime soon.
James Gunn Acknowledged CW Flash, Grant Gustin
While Ezra Miller played The Flash in DC, starting their journey from Snyderverse, their solo movie was both a critical and commercial disaster despite the enormous hype the movie produced before release. Another Flash version with his astounding run in CW’s popular series Grant Gustin has left a mark among fans as the actor has become almost synonymous with the character. Responding to a request from a fan who urged the Superman director to cast Gustin in the DC reboot, Gunn acknowledged what Gunstin has brought to the essence of the character.
“Grant is an incredibly talented guy, performing now on Broadway, I believe, and is absolutely not going to waste just because he’s not currently in a DC project. But of course I’d love to work with him at some point,” he wrote on Threads.
However, the DC boss did not specify if he would bring Gustin into DCU as The Flash replacing Miller. But as of now, there are no confirmed reports of the character appearing in the superhero brand.
CW’s The Flash is available to stream on Netflix.
