Will Venom 3 be Tom Hardy’s “Last Dance”?

Tom Hardy has gained widespread attention for his portrayal of Eddie Brock aka Venom in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe. It must be noted that SSU could never be another MCU. With a movie like Morbius in it along with a series of upcoming movies that don’t have much hype, the universe hadn’t been so great.

Despite the mixed critical reviews, the box office reception of the two Venom movies has been substantially high. But as the rumors regarding the MCU-SSU merger are high on the internet, it looks like Sony’s planning to end the Eddie Brock saga with Venom 3. It’s looking more evident after the latest Instagram post by Tom Hardy hints towards his “Last dance”.

In the post, The Dark Knight Rises star shared a behind-the-scenes photo from Venom 3 and wrote a long note regarding the movie. The post cryptically hinted at “A Last dance” as Tom Hardy appreciated his cast and crew for their efforts since the first Venom movie. The post read:

“The Last dance – thankfully we are back to shooting; and I want to take a moment just to thank all the teams thus far on the ride from V1 to here all our fantastic Cast and crew- good friends and family – we’ve come a long way,”

Then he also added his note of love and respect for debutant Venom 3 director Kelly Marcel. He addressed how the entire crew has been fun to work with. But as the filming of the last movie resumes following the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike, it looks like the SSU is nearing its crossover in the MCU, and this post adds more substance to that.

Will Sony’s Spider-Verse merge with the MCU?

The complicated rights structure regarding the Spider-Man characters has been often subjected to confusion. However, the two entertainment giants finally decided to negotiate and share the character in the form of Tom Holland‘s Spider-Man. But things were not pretty much the same with the other Spider-Man characters with whom Sony has been establishing their SSU.

Now it looks like the confusion will be cleared as the two universes might join hands. It is rumored that SSU and MCU might be one very soon. While Spider-Man 4 is poised to be the project that will execute this crossover, looks like Venom 3 can also have a connection to it. Additionally, Madame Web can also play a major role in establishing this monumental event.

The last time, we saw Peter Parker on the big screen in No Way Home, the movie executed a multiversal-level event to bring the three Spider-Men together that led to a historical moment. Interestingly, we also spotted Tom Hardy’s Venom in the mid-credits scene of the movie even though it didn’t play a major role in the MCU.

It will be interesting to see if Spider-Man 4 can also be another unforgettable Marvel venture. The release date and more updates are yet to be revealed. Meanwhile, both the Venom and the Spider-Man movie series can be rented on Apple TV+.
