Marvel Art Shows Tom Holland Has Replaced Tom Hardy as Venom

Tom Hardy‘s symbiote from Klyntar and father of Carnage has been ruling Sony’s Spider-Man Universe since 2018, but he’s yet to meet his enemy, Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Their closest encounter came during the post-credits scene of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, wherein Venom licks Peter Parker’s face on a TV.

Since then, fans of Web-Head have been speculating regarding the potential meeting of Hardy and Tom Holland. While Hardy is confirmed to reprise his role of Eddie Brock in Venom 3, and Holland is all set to return as Peter in Spider-Man 4, it remains unclear in which movie the pair will face each other, if at all.

However, Instagram artist @psychboz isn’t waiting for Sony and Marvel bosses to wave their magic wands. He instead took it upon himself to bring Venom and Spider-Man together in gritty fan art.

The fan art, titled Venomverse, sees Venom holding Spider-Man, who is wearing his black and gold suit. Having already attached the symbiote to his adversary, Brock appears to be getting ready to bite Parker’s head off.

Some fans also took notice of the way Spider-Man appeared to be wearing a Venom symbiote suit, which suggests Holland has replaced Hardy as the Lethal Protector.

What Tom Hardy Said About Venom and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man Crossover

In 2021, Hardy also revealed his desire to make a crossover between Venom and Spider-Man a reality in live-action form.

Speaking to Esquire, the Peaky Blinders actor said he’d do anything to make the crossover happen, as long as it’s beneficial to both sides. He said:

“Should both sides be willing, and it be beneficial to both sides, I don’t see why it couldn’t be. I hope and strongly, with both hands, push, eagerly, towards that potential, and would do anything to make that happen, within what’s right in business. But it would be foolish not to head towards the Olympic Games if you were running 100 metres, so yeah! I want to play on that field.”

If a report from scooper DanielRPK is to be believed, we might be closer than ever to seeing the two join hands (or perhaps tear each other’s faces off), as Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man 4 will allegedly feature more connections to Sony’s Spider-Man Universe.
