Iman Vellani has certainly set the energetic tone for the new-age Marvel Universe and she’s supposed to be a leader of a young superhero group. MCU is most likely to use her potential in a lot of upcoming projects from the Superhero brand.
Now, if Vellani’s Ms. Marvel enters Avengers: Secret Wars, which is most likely, she has a few dream characters she’d like to appear. But Tom Hardy’s Venom is not on her list which might disappoint the British actor.
Iman Vellani Revealed Her Choice Of Characters For Avengers: Secret Wars
It is likely that the MCU will bring Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan a.k.a. Ms. Marvel to Avengers: Secret Wars. But the actor has her dream choice for the cast of the upcoming Marvel movie. Speaking with Phase Zero hosts Brandon Davis and Jenna Anderson, Vellani revealed her personal choice of cast for Avengers: Secret Wars.
“I’m just like infiltrating them to you casually here. I want to say someone from like […] X-Men but okay, okay like to Jackman Wolverine because I feel like that started a lot of my love for Marvel. I think I watched X-Men probably before I watched any Avengers film. But like I was like, three or however years old, um, that be one and then Toby Maguire. I love Toby Maguire Spiderman. Oh my God or Topher Grace [Venom].”
For Vellani, she loved the old MCU she grew up watching. And she’d be pleased to share the set with anyone from the period. And “That would be amazing anyone from that right Universe like I would I would love I grew up with those movies amazing,” She added. Sadly, Tom Hardy’s venom is relatively new and it is hard to know if he could impress Vellani.
Iman Vellani On Playing Kamala Khan
Vellani made her cinematic debut with MCU’s Ms. Marvel and she was praised well by fans and critics. Most recently, the 21-year-old Canadian actor has appeared in Nia DaCosta’s The Marvels. Speaking of her responsibility and experience Vellani revealed a great deal about her journey as Ms. Marvel.
“When I think about it it feels like a lot of responsibility but then when I’m in it like getting giddy about comic books and talking to people about like just my theories and what I want out of this character like it just feels so natural,” Vellani said on Phase Zero podcast.
“I’m so lucky that the people around me within Marvel Comics uh publishing and you know the studio they’ve given me really great people in my surroundings who just like appreciate my opinions and they want to hear what I have to say and it just makes me feel even more welcomed. And feel like I can voice anything I want and, you know, they’re all nerds who work there at the end of the day. So, it’s a very homey environment, um, but yeah, I’m so honored and honestly validated that like the fans also uh, you know, are taking to the character and honestly know who she is. Like for so long, Ms. Marvel was just mine or at least, she felt that way, and then now it’s like a global thing it’s amazing.”
Many argue that Vellani as Ms. Marvel is the near-perfect cast and her comic book wisdom really sets her apart from other actors.
MCU’s Avengers: Secret Wars will arrive in theaters on May 7, 2027.
