Loki’s last hurrah in the MCU films was in Avengers: Infinity War where he met his death at the hands of Thanos. His sacrifice was purely decided by his love for his brother Thor, and that made his exit even more devastating.

Fans Demand Loki And Thor To Meet Again In Secret Wars

Now that Loki has reached a certain level of power in the Disney+ show, fans are craving for one scene that seems quite overdue now. Tom Hiddleston’s Loki and Chris Hemsworth’s Thor need to meet again, perhaps have some catch-up or even closure. A fan from Twitter/X suggested:

I don’t need Loki to be an active character in the rest of the multiverse saga. All I need is for some sh*t to go down during Secret Wars that leads to Thor finding himself “outside” of the multiverse and at The Tree where we get a heart-wrenching and beautiful scene between the two brothers.”

That would certainly be a deeply touching and precious reunion between the estranged brothers. In an interview with Comic Book, Hiddleston revealed what his character was thinking during his last moments in Infinity War:

I think that whole scene is overwhelmingly terrifying for both Thor and Loki. Genuinely, he’s seen Thor in some tight spots before, but he’s always trusted his brother will find a way out of it. In that moment, he knows that if he doesn’t do anything his brother will die at Thanos’ hand. When he first starts speaking, I think he’s just stalling for time.”

The fact that Hiddleston’s character wanted to protect Thor even at the cost of his life is a rare event that seemed very precious for fans. The actor added:

Then I think he realized I’ve only got one shot at this, and it might not work, but at least I’ll have saved my brother, and I’ll go down swinging. I always found that very touching.”

It was definitely one of the most heartfelt, not to mention depressing, scenes in the Infinity War saga. Loki exited from the movies in the most honorable way.

Apparently, Tom Hiddleston already knew about Loki’s death way before Thor: Ragnarok was released in theaters. He revealed in an interview with Empire:

[Loki’s death] was the very first scene the Russos, Joe and Anthony, had [come up with]. They told me about it in person when I went in to meet [Marvel Studios president] Kevin [Feige], and he was walking me through the loose sketch of the story for Thor: Ragnarok. This was May 2016.”

Still, the god of mischief managed to appear in Endgame as an earlier version of himself. He finally got to use his tricks to escape with the Tesseract, and that’s how he’s alive in the show.
