Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 has given the fans what they wanted in terms of animations, character developments, and storyline but most of all, the biggest achievement of the Shibuya Incident arc was the epic battles that were shown throughout 18 episodes. These battles and fights were probably the best scenes in the entire season.

These battles and fights included the powerhouses of the Jujutsu Kaisen world like Aoi Todo, Toji Fushiguro, Gojo Satoru, Sukuna, etc going at each other and fighting their hearts out. Not only the fights impressed the fans, but the animation that went into the creation of these fights certainly helped them a lot.

The episode had almost 18 fights in the season, which meant each episode had at least one fight scene, where while some characters dominated their opponents, other characters were sort of equal in terms of strength and cursed energy. But they surely did entertain the fans, and five fights among those were top-notch.

1. Gojo Satoru vs Toji Fushiguro

Even as a teenager, many people regarded Gojo Satoru as one of the series’ most powerful and intelligent sorcerers. But when Toji Fushiguro managed to even outwit Gojo Satoru in their first battle, it was clear that he was stronger both mentally and physically. Because Toji doesn’t have cursed energy, Gojo can hardly follow him, and as a result, the fight ends almost as soon as it begins. In minutes, their first fight ends with the gifted Gojo defeated.

But things turned out very differently in the second battle between these two characters. Toji’s rematch with Gojo demonstrated his skill as a weapons master, but Gojo now had the knowledge he needed to win, and he did. He used the infamous hollow purple against the assassin, which was stronger than anything Toji had up his sleeve, thus finally defeating him.

2. Sukuna vs Mahoraga

In Sukuna’s fight against Mahoraga, the most unpredictable shikigami of the Ten Shadows Technique—the Eight-Handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General Mahoraga—faces off against the special grade incarnated sorcerer Sukuna. This bout proved to be among the greatest fights as well. It also demonstrated Sukuna’s strength and what would occur if he exerted all of his might.

The fight happens during the Shibuya Incident when Sukuna is compelled to break off an exorcism ceremony to keep Megumi Fushiguro alive to further his ulterior motives. The battle between Sukuna and Mahoraga was so intense that Sukuna’s domain expansion left a massive crater in the middle of Shibuya.

3. Toji Fushiguro vs Dagon

Toji’s fight with the special grade curse Dagon was just a form of assault that Toji did on Dagon in his Domain expansion. Dagon who was dominating Nanami, Megumi, Maki, and Naobito, was brutally thrashed by a person who had no cursed energy. After being roused from his unconscious state, Toji’s personality remained suppressed due to an improperly used science curse, and he was reduced to a murderous tool that preyed on the most formidable fighters in the area.

He willingly entered Dagon’s domain expansion and despite all the cursed techniques the cursed spirit threw at him, Toji completely controlled Dagon. Toji, who was on a completely different level, dispatched Dagon quickly and used the strongest methods available to break the curse. Toji easily destroys Dagon and stops the domain’s expansion.

4. Yuji Itadori and Aoi Todo vs Mahito

Yuji Itadori and Aoi Todo are some of the best pairs in the Jujutsu Kaisen world. Both are extremely strong and are perfectly in sync after their fight with Hanami in season 1. But when they were put against a curse as strong as Mahito, they had some difficulty dealing with him. After Aoi brings Yuji out of despair and sadness, they get into a fierce battle against Mahito. Mahito eventually changed into his “true form” halfway through their battle, inflicting terrible injuries on both Yuji and Todo.

However, Aoi’s technique proved to be a hindrance for Mahito as the duo was eventually able to overpower the curse and defeat him. The fight was truly one of the most epic fights Yuji had in season 2 and it eliminated one of the biggest villains in the entire series.

5. Yuji Itadori vs Choso

The battle between Choso and Yuji Itadori is among the highlights of the Shibuya Arc. It’s also among the anime’s best-animated scenes, thanks to MAPPA. Even though Yuji appears to be stronger in hand-to-hand combat, Choso overpowered him by using his Blood Manipulation technique.

Yuji’s combat prowess is unable to overcome Choso’s immense defensive advantage due to his ability to harden the blood within his body. Choso had the upper hand over Yuji, but he also had far more experience and could countermand any trick or strategy Yuji tried. By adapting, Choso manages to surprise Yuji with an attack that, had Sukuna not awoken, would have killed Yuji.
