Taylor Swift is currently dating football star Travis Kelce. The duo reportedly began dating in September 2023, with Swift making multiple appearances at Kelce’s matches during the NFL. She also made an appearance at the Super Bowl, where Kelce’s team the Kansas City Chiefs won (via Billboard).
Recently, the couple seemed to have taken their relationship to the next level. Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift reportedly attended the Mahomes Foundation Golf Classic gala in Las Vegas. According to People, Kelce went on stage during the auction and put four tickets for Swift’s Eras tour on the docket. Kelce reportedly also hinted at a significant milestone in their relationship.
According to a story uploaded by auctioneer Harry Santa-Ollala, Kelce said,
“I think, um, I was just talking to my significant other and uh, we might have one other auction item that wasn’t on the docket…Has anyone heard of the Eras tour?”
While couples usually call each other their ‘girlfriend/boyfriend’ or ‘partner’, Kelce’s title for Swift being a ‘significant other’ seems to be an indication of the couple crossing a major milestone in their relationship.
Travis Kelce Reveals How He Endlessly Pursued Taylor Swift
Footballer Travis Kelce reportedly pursued Taylor Swift for a while and even failed at reaching out to her once when he attended her Eras Tour. According to the New Heights podcast, Kelce reportedly first tried to shoot his shot with the Look What You Made Me Do singer by hopping on the ‘friendship bracelet’ trend. He said,
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs she sings, so I was a little but*hurt that I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her…I received a bunch of them while I was there, but I wanted to give her one with my number on it.”
Kelce mentioned on the cover of WSJ Magazine that he had someone ‘play cupid’ for him and after he tried multiple times, she finally reached out to him. He reportedly invited her to a game in Arrowhead, where she had performed. Kelce mentioned that even Swift’s family members helped his case in a way. He also mentioned that he had never dated someone like Swift who always had so much attention on her. He said,
“I’ve never dealt with it. But at the same time, I’m not running away from any of it…The scrutiny she gets, how much she has a magnifying glass on her, every single day, paparazzi outside her house, outside every restaurant she goes to, after every flight she gets off, and she’s just living, enjoying life. When she acts like that I better not be the one acting all strange.”
