Gru and the minions are finally back this summer, as Illumination has finally dropped the trailer for Despicable Me 4. The upcoming film is returning with more chaos and silly antics of the minions along with an adorable little face, Gru Jr. The sequel will feature Gru coming face-to-face with another villain, Will Ferrell’s Maxime Le Mal, who is hellbent on destroying the reformed bad guy and his peaceful family life.
While Despicable Me 4 is set to showcase more mischief of the adorable minions, eagle-eyed fans of the franchise have noticed an uncanny resemblance with The Incredibles 2, and they can not get over it. The fans are talking about it all over social media, sharing their view on the resemblance.
Despicable Me 4 Fans Can’t Get Over Gru Jr.’s Look
Illumination’s Despicable Me 4 happens to be the sixth film in the series, including the Minions films. The trailer for the 4th film was dropped a few hours back, which features Steve Carrel voicing Gru and his adorably mischievous minions. The film is set to continue from the events of the 3rd film, where Gru married Lucy (Kristen Wiig) and started a family with his three daughters, his minions, and his son, Gru Jr.
While fans are thrilled to see a new face, as he already looks devious, and believe that he will continue his father’s legacy, at the same time, they could not get over the fact that Gru Jr. has an uncanny resemblance with Jack-Jack from Disney’s The Incredibles 2.
After watching the trailer, fans went on X where Discussing Films (@DiscussingFilm) shared the first look of Gru Jr. and fans shared their opinions about the new character.
