While her role may not have been disclosed to the public just yet, it’s being claimed that she would either be in the leading role or at least one of the leading roles in the future. After leaving the MCU behind in 2021 with her standalone film Black Widow, Scarlett Johansson took a well-deserved break from the big screen, which seems to have ended as she’s now being confirmed to play a major role in the new and upcoming Jurassic World film by Universal Pictures.

Since this project is an entirely new iteration of the iconic franchise, the cast is said to be completely different from past iterations.

The Hollywood Reporter reported this in an article that claimed that Johansson is moving forward with the offer that was made by the studios earlier. Since the production of the film is all set to begin soon, the cast needs to be picked up just as quickly, which is why the negotiations and onboarding are accelerated for the project.

But before the Marriage Story star was brought on for this project, there were reports of Jennifer Lawrence, Academy Award winner for Best Actress for her 2012 film Silver Linings Playbook, was being considered for the role that Johansson has now been confirmed for.

It was said (via Puck News) that Universal made the actress an offer to become one of the leading stars in this new project, but due to her aversion to big-budget and long-running cinematic franchises, she declined the offer, which then was later picked up by Johansson.
