Mangaka Hirohiko Araki, the mind behind JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, found a great way to balance his work life and health. It is one of the major reasons behind the long-running presence of this man in the anime and manga industry. His fandom has running jokes about the author, like his potential vampire status or “Araki forgot” memes. He is among one of the prominent manga artists in the industry and is an extremely fascinating author.
Mangaka of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure doesn’t want to ruin his health for his work
Seeing manga artists overwork and getting burnt out is a common scenario in the manga industry. There have been cases where authors died partly or entirely because of the stress of work. According to fans, authors are constantly pushing their limits, like One Piece’s Eiichiro Oda, while artists like My Hero Academia’s Kohei Horikoshi take a break every now and then.
Mangaka of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Hirohiko Araki, developed a relatively healthy way of balancing his health and work, which is one of the primary reasons why the man has stayed in this industry for decades now. At a certain point in his life, Hirohiko realized he couldn’t devote his entire time to manga. So, he decided to keep aside time for hobbies such as traveling and cooking. The idea of balance will vary from person to person, but Hirohiko’s example could be considered by other authors.
How did Hirohiko Araki come up with the idea of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure?
A Twitter user named Omitaichi posted in a tweet that Araki said, “When he first started planning JoJo, he decided to go with a name that people would easily remember.”
araki said that when he first started planning jojo he decided to go with a name that people would easily remember, so he decided to use J J as starting letters for his main characters name, thats where the “jojo” idea comes from

There were several other names that were easier to reminisce about as well. However, JoJo had all the alliteration while being short and concise. Araki found himself becoming biased for the name once he came up with it.
“He decided to just use JJ as starting letters for his main character’s name; that’s where the ‘JoJo’ idea comes from.”
This idea of Araki could be seen reflecting upon his series from time to time. Each character introduced in the series has used a similar naming style as “JJ.” Rather than using different consonants, the star of Golden Wind bucked tradition with his name. However, Giorno Giovanni’s name has its specific alliteration. Being the son of Dio Brando, it would be rather stupid to expect the character to stick to traditions.
