Henry Cavill, renowned for his portrayal of Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher, is set to embark on a new gaming adventure with his upcoming project in Warhammer 40k.
In December 2022, Henry Cavill announced that he would “guide” a “cinematic universe” of projects based around the tabletop game Warhammer 40k. Amazon has grabbed the rights to the hugely popular war game from creator Games Workshop, which first launched it way back in 1987.
He said: “For 30 years I have dreamt of seeing a Warhammer universe in live action.”
“Now, after 22 years of experience in this industry, I finally feel that I have the skill set and experience to guide a Warhammer Cinematic Universe into life.“
And now as the God of War show looms on the horizon, and with rumors swirling, the question arises – could Henry Cavill’s triumph in Warhammer 40k open the gates for his involvement in this highly anticipated series? It’s not outside the realm of possibility that a triumphant Warhammer run could open the door to the God of War throne, especially if the powers that be at Amazon are swayed by critical acclaim and audience adoration.
Writing is Now Underway for the Live-action Adaptation of God of War
Following so many failed attempts to adapt the beloved video game series, the live-action God of War show is now confirmed. Producers have promised that the series will be faithful to the source material, too.
Katherine Pope, speaking during the Sony panel at CES 2024, expressed excitement about the progress of God of War.
“We’re also delighted to have writing underway on two new IP-based projects God of War for Prime Video and Horizon Zero Dawn at Netflix. Those are coming along with a few other highly anticipated series, including the fourth season of The Boys, and the final season of Cobra Kai.”
As the script for the God of War TV show is underway, anticipation builds for what promises to be a captivating adaptation. Now, the prime speculation is who will assume the starring role in the God of War show. It could be Henry Cavill, who knows!
