The MCU is trying to establish Jonathan Majors’ Kang as the new big baddie of the Multiverse Saga. The character was teased in Loki season 1 and made his proper introduction in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. While Majors’ performance was praised, his characterization left a lot to be desired and fans became cautious about the character’s potential.
Majors appeared as another Kang variant in Loki season 2 and Majors gave another varied performance as Victor Timely. Kang the Conqueror is yet to make a terrifying impact on audiences while an upcoming Avengers film headlined by him is coming up. The plot credits scene of The Marvels may be setting up something big that will prove Kang’s dominance over the multiverse.
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty May Be Bringing Avengers vs X-Men On-Screen
The MCU is currently in the Multiverse Saga with Jonathan Majors‘ Kang slowly being set up as the ultimate threat to the multiverse. While Majors has appeared as the character in Ant-Man 3 and as variants of him in two seasons of Loki, the MCU’s intention to make him a truly intimidating figure is yet to be achieved.
The post-credits scene in the recent MCU release The Marvels blew people away as the MCU finally brought the X-Men into the MCU. This may have created a possible direction for where Kang’s storyline could be going in the MCU leading up to Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. It seems like the film may prove to be the manifestation of the live-action version of Avengers vs X-Men.
At the end of Ant-Man 3, it is revealed there are countless Kang variants spread across the multiverse, ruling over specific timelines and realities. Loki and the Avengers may have to battle Kang’s minions over different multiverses, with one in which the mutants live. As shown in The Marvels, the X-Men exist in some parallel reality which may be controlled by Kang
He must have brought the mutants under his influence In that way, The Earth’s Mightiest Heroes must have fought this evil version of X-Men. It will be a treat for audiences to see this come to life on-screen (just like the comic version). It will also establish Kang as a powerful and intimidating figure that will be hard for the Avengers to take down.
