Earlier this year, Jonathan Majors was arrested and hit with charges of assault, attempted assault, and aggravated harassment toward Grace Jabbari, resulting in his career coming to a standstill. Almost eight months after the initial arrest, Majors’ trial eventually kicked off on 29th November, which is expected to last for two weeks.
With the jury comprising six jurors, three men and women, and two alternates, one man and woman, Judge Michael Gaffey has made two rulings regarding the assault case before opening statements.

The Judge Issued Two Rulings Prior to the Opening Statements of Jonathan Majors’ Trial
On October 25, Grace Jabbari was briefly arrested at a New York City police station and was charged with misdemeanor assault and criminal mischief. However, the charges were swiftly dropped, and the matter became “closed and sealed,” as it lacked “prosecutorial merit” per the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. Per Michael Gaffey’s first ruling, the Jury will get to hear evidence regarding the brief arrest of Jabbari as the Jury will assess the allegations against Jonathan Majors, reported Deadline.
The second ruling issued by the Judge was about the evidence on the case that was under seal. The sealed documents, which were termed “prejudicial and inflammatory” by the judge, are said to reportedly contain information about the actor’s past incidents, not only in the US but also in the UK.
Marvel Likely Dropping the Kang Storyline Claimed Author
With the assault allegations surrounding the Creed Star, it’s not hard to see why many studios are steering away from him, with Disney removing his Magzine Dreams off the release calendar altogether. And per Joanna Robinson, author of MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios, MCU is likely to shift away from the Kang storyline they envisioned for the multiversal saga. She recounted hearing the alleged reason the removal of Ant-Man 3 writer Sam Levinson from Avengers 5 had to deal with Marvel’s adamancy to abandon the Kang storyline.
Appearing on the House of R Ringer podcast, she said,
“I heard from someone recently…the screenwriter Jeff Loveness, who wrote Quantumania, was supposed to write The Kang Dynasty…anyway, it’s confirmed. I had it confirmed to me he’s no longer working for Marvel,” Robinson said. “I asked the person why, and they said the reason why is he was all wrapped up in this Kang storyline and they are likely going to be moving away from that.”
Although nothing is concrete as of now and will depend on the flow of the current trial, if convicted, Jonathan Majors, who pleaded not guilty to all four charges, can face up to a year in prison.
