Over the last few months, there have been plenty of leaks regarding the announcement of a new Red Dead Redemption title. However, this recent leak by Tez2 is some of the first “concrete” evidence we’ve had that the game may be announced sooner rather than later.

With Grand Theft Auto V’s 10th anniversary due in November many have suggested that among the celebrations regarding the iconic title, Rockstar has plenty of juicy announcements to reveal. Although the biggest speculated announcement is the release date of GTA 6, it could make sense that Rockstar may choose to reveal the Red Dead Redemption remake as well.

The decision from Rockstar Games to attach their name so prominently to the remaster could be to ease fan scrutiny surrounding the product. By stating that the studio themselves are working on the project directly, it could be they are trying to ward off any unwanted association with the much-maligned Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. The 2021 compilation was not actually developed in-house by Rockstar Games but instead outsourced to developer Grove Street Games, which may have resulted in the less-than-stellar “remaster” that was produced.

With the possibility of an announcement surrounding the release date to happen “imminently” according to leakers, fan hype is definitely building for the rootin tootin cowboy shootin remake. With it being over a decade since Red Dead Redemption’s release, now may be the time for Rockstar to get fans back in the saddle.

However, the choice to put more time into developing this remake has also worried fans that it may be drawing focus away from GTA 6, possibly delaying one of the “most hyped games of all time”. At the moment it is all just leaks and speculation, but if you want to stay up to date on all the latest Red Dead Redemption and Rockstar Games rumours, follow @FandomWire for all the latest gaming news.
