Valorant‘s launch on console is around the corner, and we now have a glimpse of the in-game trophies players will be able to earn as they eliminate their rivals. However, the trophy set will not be complete as a Platinum won’t be included. It will feature 16 trophies under the Bronze, Silver, and Gold umbrella.
Platinums hold a special place for players, especially the ones grinding for trophies. In essence, it’s a trophy for gathering all the trophies. Video games like Bloodborne, Ratchet, Days Gone, and more feature a Platinum offering, giving the players ultimate satisfaction as they complete a game.
The Trophy Cabinet Would Feel Empty Without this One
Getting that first kill to go flawless in a game is something of an unparalleled feeling. Add a reward for achievements and players will be happy. Valorant will feature 16 trophies that players can achieve upon completing certain objectives in the game, but they will be left longing for Platinum trophy.
As the news broke, players sparked a conversation over the fact that the Platinum trophy will not be part of the game. The news was shared on social media platform X by a user dubbed Hunter.

However, players expressed their dissatisfaction over this, asking how hard it even is to add such a simple trophy to the game.

With So Much Fun Offered, There Likely Won’t be Much of an Effect on Valorant
Trophies are good for those who aren’t really into the gameplay, unlike the user John Nguyen. The game that gamers usually compare with Valve’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Blizzard‘s Overwatch already lives rent free in the hearts of players. The trophies may ruin the experience if we look closely.
There’s even a debate that ran few years ago on the PS5 subreddit. A user called BuildingHuge3181 shared his opinion over trophies. He believes they take fun out of the game.

It’s not just the Platinum trophy that the fans will get deprived of. Gyro aiming is also set aside in the PS5 version of Valorant. There won’t be any cross-play between PC and PlayStation either. The limited beta will begin on June 14, 2024, as announced during the Summer Games Fest.
Despite these features not making it on PS5, it is highly likely that they’ll affect the fun, as players have witnessed on its PC version.
