On the other hand, Venom fans are grieving that they did not get to see a face-off between the true hero and anti-hero of the Spider-Man-verse. They chipped in their piece of mind under a post on Twitter that shared Hardy’s note for Venom 3. However, fans hope their expectations shall be met in the final sequel if Spider-Man gets to battle Venom.

Tom Hardy gets misty-eyed for his last Marvel movie

The first installment of the Venom film series was released in 2018, with much applause from the audience. Directed by Ruben Fleischer, the movie did quite well at the box office, collecting $856 million, per ScreenRant. The grand success gave way to the sequel Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Released amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the Andy Serkis-led sequel didn’t do as expected. Nevertheless, Tom Hardy’s recent Instagram post feels like an assurance to Venom fans.

The 46-year-old English actor announced the making of Venom 3 and his appreciation for the great team he’s got to work with all these years. Pretty enthusiastic about Venom 3, Hardy wrote on Instagram

“V3N0M 3 The Last dance – thankfully we are back to shooting; and I want to take a moment just to thank all the teams thus far on the ride from V1 to here all our fantastic Cast and crew- good friends and family – we’ve come a long way – it’s been and continues to be a lot of fun this journey”

Apart from all the thrill and excitement for Venom 3, it is also Hardy’s last probable movie for the MCU. Although, we can’t really say. Hardy who plays Eddie Brock and the titular Venom, might pop up in the Spider-Verse sometime later. Until then it seems like his Marvel stint has come to a close. A snippet of the heartfelt note was shared on Twitter by Discussing Film. The caption read,

Stumbling upon the post, even Venom fans had a lot to say. The fans are primarily irked by the slip of production which is being labeled as an ‘injustice’ to Venom’s existence.

While the spotlight on Venom is about to switch, fans are not satisfied by the fact that none of the Venom movies got a signature Venom versus Spider-Man battle. Venom and Venom 2 followed a solo anti-hero storyline, with little to no signs of Spider-Man. Thus, fans demand their wish be fulfilled in the third sequel.

Here are some of the reactions from the fans:

Nonetheless, it is hard to believe that Venom 3 would mark the end of the anti-hero in the MCU. As teased in Tom Holland‘s No Way Home and Across the Spiderverse, the Spider-verse has the potential to bring back Spidey’s greatest enemies, and that would include Venom for sure. Do you think it might be the end of the Venom?
