In a new interview with ComicBook.com, the actor shared his wish saying that he would like Kingpin to get into the animated world of What If…?. It would give the fans to see a much darker side of the character. Kingpin was already a dark character in Netflix’s Daredevil series. So, can you imagine a much darker animated depiction of the character?

Actor Vincent D’Onofrio Wants a What If…? Episode in Tone to Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker Film

Vincent D’Onofrio has a wish. He desires to explore his Wilson Fisk character in an alternate path. He wants to see this character in the animated What If…? series. 

During his interview with ComicBook.com, D’Onofrio said that he will continue to play Kingpin for as long as Marvel Studios wants him to. As well as he expressed his wish for a What If…? episode for Fisk, which channels what Joaquin Phoenix did in the Joker film.

I would love to do, like a, What If…? kind of Fisk story,” D’Onofrio told ComicBook.

“I would just like to explore him in a, outside of the usual teaming up of villain and superhero. I’d like to see a truly more realistic version, kind of like what they did with the Joker … A more interior approach, and you know, 10 times darker than anything we’ve done with him before. You know, exploring that would be really interesting.”

Along with all of Netflix’s other Marvel shows, Daredevil was also canceled after three seasons, and hardly there is any chance of a revival. D’Onofrio will reprise his role as the Kingpin in the upcoming Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again

Vincent D’Onofrio Would Play the Character As Long As Marvel Wishes

The Jurassic World actor revealed that he would play the character as long as Marvel wanted him. Certainly, there is no intention of slowing down yet. As he is all set to reprise the role once again in MCU’s Daredevil: Born Again, he spoke about his future with the character in the interview. According to him, there is only one thing that could stop him from going further.

The only thing that could have held me back would be if I just had to keep on putting on all that weight and keep it on. And so I don’t have to do that anymore, so I’m in the best shape I’ve been in a long time. I love these new kinds of ways that they actually construct the muscle fat suits that I have to wear.”

D’Onofrio went on to say that, until the time he had the passion and ability, he couldn’t see himself not playing the iconic role. D’Onofrio shared:

I think they finally work and feel right and look good. That helps a lot because it’s not the healthiest thing in the world to keep putting weight on and taking it off again. So yeah, I mean, as long as the powers that be will have me, I can’t see not playing this part, it’s so much fun.
