Saber Interactive’s upcoming game, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, in essence, will feature a couple of campaigns. While there is one with the original storyline, a player vs. enemy mode (also known as the operations mode) is confirmed to have been included in the game. It may sound like a side quest kind of thing but it definitely is not.

The original game had this game mode where players were able to put larger-than-life Space Marines against others to test their might. But the sequel will also allow them to play together with other players in the PVE mode, where they confront the enemy. It almost sounds like an alternate campaign in the game.

That Space Marine 2 Mode Kind of Sounds Familiar

The upcoming Warhammer video game looks pretty, both visually and gameplay-wise. But the narrative of the game remains a core aspect that players are waiting to see. The story is set up after a century of the first game’s events.

And with what Saber Interactive’s creative director, Oliver Hollis-Leick, explained in a recent interview, the campaign will not be the only storyline that’ll come to pass.

So, in the campaign, you will begin to, as Titus has the rank of lieutenant, technically he has command of additional squads, and so as more and more shit hits the fan in the game, he is able to command some of these squads.

We won’t be seeing what these squads will be up to but he explains that players will be able to play as them too, giving players a chance to live on the subordinate side of the war. That’s something like the Strike Force missions from Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.

Some Players Don’t Really Want to Play With Players in PVE

It has been confirmed to feature multiple game modes.

We know that Tyranids will be the enemies central to the game, attacking Space Marine 2 players in zombie-like hordes. But these insectoid xenos aren’t the only ones in their presence. The Thousand Sons, one of the traitor legions, are likely planning a Chao-tic scheme. Interestingly, they somehow seem immune to Tyranids.

It sounds thrilling and fun to play PVE mode with friends, but some fans don’t really want to go co-op. They are more into A.I. companions who’ll keep them company during the game in that particular mode. To their joy, the company has already confirmed they have this option too.

It is only a matter of months now that the players will get hands-on experience with the game. The official release date for Space Marine 2 has been set for September 9, 2024 but a gameplay demo is available to watch for fans.

What do you think? How will the PVE mode in Space Marine 2 turn out? We would like to know your thoughts about it in the comments section below.
