Naruto is probably one of the greatest anime and manga series ever created in the history of the anime world. The main reason for this is the character-building that the story portrays with not only the protagonist but other supporting characters as well. One of the most important characters in the series is Sasuke Uchiha. He is one of Konohagakure’s few remaining Uchiha clan members. Sasuke made it his life’s mission to avenge his clan when his older brother, Itachi, massacred them. His character holds a lot of darkness and depth and to bring out that depth through voice is an entirely different thing.

Yuri Lowenthal found playing Sasuke Relieving

In an interview with Crunchyroll, When asked about playing such a dark and probably hated role in the series, Lowenthal explained how instead of the role affecting him, it kind of brought a sense of relief for him. He said:

“I didn’t have a lot of experience with those kinds of characters. But I guess, it shows you we all have some darkness within us that we can access. So I was able to find it. It was probably very good for me, you know. It was probably a relief I got to, rather than just playing the same notes on an instrument, that I got to mix it up a little bit.”

He talked about how despite having very little experience with such characters, the role helped him in getting a sense of relief as he got to change the tone of his work and get more varied. Lowenthal’s work as Sasuke was greatly appreciated by fans and even though, the character that he got to play was negative and somewhat hated, he nailed the role for so long.
