The series is a genre-bending blend of horror and dark humor, at the center of which stands Ash Williams, a reluctant hero armed with a chainsaw and a whole lot of grit. The original trilogy and the follow-up series “Ash vs Evil Dead” cemented his place in horror history and now fans are clamoring for him to make a return to the series he helped make so popular.

The dead are restless once more. News of a new Evil Dead movie has sent shockwaves through the horror community, stirring a potent brew of excitement. The franchise, renowned for its blend of bone-chilling scares and slapstick humor, has carved a unique niche in pop culture. From the low-budget splatterfest of the original film to the polished gore of the sequels, Sam Raimi‘s Evil Dead has constantly evolved and is set for a new addition, as per Deadline

This new chapter promises to continue the legacy, plunging audiences back into the world of the Necronomicon and the Deadite hordes it unleashes. While the plot remains clouded in mystery, one thing’s for certain: capturing the essence of Evil Dead requires a specific kind of hero – a reluctant badass with a quip for every decapitation. Enter Ash Williams, the franchise’s iconic protagonist, played by the one and only Bruce Campbell.

Campbell’s portrayal of Ash is nothing short of legendary. Over the course of three films and the Ash vs Evil Dead series, he’s transformed from a wide-eyed college student to a grizzled, one-handed monster hunter.

However, fans have noticed a shift in recent years. The once central Ash took a backseat in the 2013 remake, and while Ash vs Evil Dead brought him back as the star, the series’ cancellation left his story unresolved. Now with the news of the new movie, fans want nothing more than watching their favorite chainsaw-wielding hero make a return.

Fans will have to wait a little longer to learn whether or not Campbell makes his return as the face of the Evil Dead.

While fans might be happy to hear the news of a new Evil Dead movie, that happiness will double upon hearing that actually two new movies are in the works. Earlier this year in February, Deadline reported that Sébastien Vaniček had been hired as the director to helm the sixth movie of the franchise, the plot of which has not been revealed yet.

Now, Francis Gallupi will helm the seventh movie of the series. No details of its plot are known and further, no one knows which of these two movies will be released first, and whether they will be connected or not. There are just too many questions and the only thing that can answer it is – time.
