The Reason Behind Heath Ledger And Naomi Watts’ Split
After meeting on the set of Ned Kelly, Heath Ledger, and Naomi Watts started a relationship before they briefly parted ways in 2003 to focus on their respective careers. They soon reconciled by the year’s end, making subsequent red-carpet appearances in the following year.
However, as Ledger started focusing on his next film, Brokeback Mountain, discussions about their split resurfaced. While the Ned Kelly stars did not say anything at the time, speculations pointed toward their 11-year age gap as a potential factor in their split.
The Adore star reportedly wanted to start a family, but Ledger, who was 25 at the time, was not ready for familial responsibilities. While the Oscar-nominated actress did not confirm these assertions, Naomi Watts did acknowledge their awareness of the trajectory of their relationship.
“I think deep down we both knew there wasn’t a forever plan,” she said as per Rolling Stone. However, speculations resurfaced after Ledger welcomed his daughter Matilda Rose with the Brokeback Mountain co-star Michelle Williams the following year.

Disagreement on Kids Led to Sofía Vergara’s Divorce
In her recent interview with El País, the Modern Family star Sofía Vergara shared the reason she and the True Blood star Joe Manganiello decided to split after seven years of marriage. “My marriage broke up because my husband was younger; he wanted to have kids,” she said before adding, “And I didn’t want to be an old mom.” The actress further explained that she is not against the idea, but she is not seeking to be a mother at 51.
“I had a son at 19, who is now 32, and I’m ready to be a grandmother, not a mother,” she stated. The Griselda star has a son Manolo Gonzalez Vergara from her first marriage to her high school sweetheart Joe Gonzalez.
Vergara and Joe Manganiello initially met at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner in 2014 and got married in November 2015. However, last year they released a joint statement sharing their decision to split. The actor filed for divorce cutting “irreconcilable differences” and listed July 2, 2023, as the date of separation.
