Many projects have been scrapped to keep the DCU in line with Gunn’s vision, some of the biggest hits were Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 3 getting canceled and the exit if Henry Cavill as Superman. The news is followed by Gal Gadot reaffirming her commitment to the character, telling her fans that she “can’t wait to share her next chapter”. Among these massive changes, Doom Patrol will also come to an end with Season 4 being its last.

An official statement declaring the end of season four was released followed by massive slander toward Gunn and his vision for DC. Finally James Gunn took to Twitter to clear some of the confusion and also take a dig at Marvel.

James Gunn and Safran have recently been bought on as the Heads of DC. Gunn tried to say that it was those preceding him that made the decision, and he is merely executing those decisions. Gunn also took the opportunity to thank the cast and crew and wish them the very best.

Chris J. Davis asked “Right… but if you are now in charge, presumably you could have worked Doom Patrol at least, into the new direction you are going. It is one of the most interesting, well done shows from DC in forever.”

To which Gunn replied, “Because we produce TV shows; we don’t program streamers or networks. We can’t snap our fingers and make any show run indefinitely.”

Twitter did not take any of it. Fans of Doom Patrol  pointed out that since Gunn is the new head he could have reversed the decision and continued to work on the show. However, James Gunn is adamant and explains that TV and streaming does not work similarly.

Brendan Fraser

With the end of Doom Patrol, we will not be seeing any of these actors in DC, probably specially Brendan Fraser who made a comeback with Doom Patrol. But the end of the show might push him back in the shadows. Currently no release date for Season 4, part 2 has been set by the streamer. The first two episodes of Season four have already been released on December 8 2022.
