American actor Brian Tyree Henry is well-known for his role in the FX comedy-drama series Atlanta (2016-2022) as rapper Alfred ‘Paper Boi’ Miles. He is also acknowledged for his role as Bernie Hayes in Godzilla vs. Kong (2021) and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024).  However, despite his fame for his character in the MonsterVerse movies, Brian T. Henry is finding it difficult to continue with the franchise.

Brian Tyree Henry, Rebecca Hall, and Dan Stevens appeared in an interview related to the MonsterVerse with Rotten Tomatoes correspondent Nikki Novak. In the interview, when Novak asked about the experience with H. E. A. V. (Hollow Earth Auxiliary Vehicle), all three actors, especially Henry expressed why none of them wanted to go on it again.

Henry explained that it was really an uncomfortable position inside the vehicle due to the hydraulics. Even Hall explained that inside the vehicle, it feels like someone is doing a simulator in a theme park. While giving his opinion on the vehicle, on the behalf of all three actors, Henry said:

“We don’t ever want to get on this again.”

At first, Henry thought that the vehicle would be a ride somewhere, but as soon as the filming came to an end, his views changed drastically. It’s solely the H. E. A. V. for which Henry is against letting his character do a single thing if ever there’s a threequel to the series.

Were King Kong and Baby Kong Frenemies?

Keeping aside the H. E. A. V. discussion, the actors also discussed whether Gozilla x Kong: The New Empire shows Godzilla and King Kong as frenemies or the movie brings forth King Kong and Baby Kong as a potential duo. In response, Henry immediately jokes that it’s a pretty tough question to answer. However, Dan Stevens answers that both possibilities are equally appealing.

Moving on, with Novak’s question about Stevens eating banana chips in the movie, all the actors laughed about how there’s a lot of talk about food items like banana chips, Kaji sausage, etc. Also, when Novak mentioned that it was a cool presentation when all the actors got a slow-motion walk, Henry immediately joked about how he was the only one who got spared from the heroic slow-mo walk scene.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is now in cinemas.
