Kevin Spacey finally breathed a sigh of relief after he was found not guilty of the nine charges pressed against him, including seven counts of s*xual assault. The trial in London lasted for a month, and the actor revealed he was humbled after the jurors declared him innocent.
While standing in the witness box, the actor claimed that he was intimate with one of the alleged victims, but the accusation stated that he showed signs of aggressiveness towards the man at a party in the early 2000s.
Kevin Spacey Admitted He Had Intimate Relationship With One Of His Accusers
Kevin Spacey spoke in front of the jury during his trial at Southwark Crown Court and confessed he had an intimate relationship with one of the reported victims. He revealed they had a great time while making it clear that he did not force the other person to go any further via Deadline:
“We talked about a lot of things; it was very relaxed with him – somewhat intimate. We enjoyed each other’s company. I can’t remember specific conversations we had, but I remember the tone, I remember the atmosphere, I remember the laughter. We had a very fun time together.”

The House of Cards star believed they had something special going on, which prompted him to continue his acts. Spacey later admitted he was unaware that the other party did not feel the same way.
“I remember the end of the evening, and that was what struck me in my mind because we had a consensual and, I believe, a very nice and lovely evening. If he regretted it immediately I don’t know, I can’t speak for him.”
The actor finally remarked that it made no sense to blame him for such allegations because he knows how to conduct himself when he is with someone and that the accusation of inappropriate behavior was entirely madness.
Kevin Spacey Felt Humbled After He Was Found Innocent
Kevin Spacey lamented how he lost his job and reputation to the accusations of assault, and everything he built for himself immediately gone in just a matter of days. Even the LGBTQ+ community was upset because he came out when he was under trial, an image that did not paint a pretty picture.
Even the actor could not help but show his surprise after he was finally acquitted of the several charges pressed against him. He said shortly after the verdict via CNN:
“I imagine that many of you can understand that there’s a lot for me to process after what has just happened today. But I would like to say that I’m enormously grateful to the jury for having taken the time to examine all of the evidence and all of the facts carefully before they reached their decision. And I am humbled by the outcome today.”
The actor talked about the issue in a bizarre Christmas Eve video where he was dressed as House of Cards’ Frank Underwood. Fans would remember how the Netflix series kicked him out in 2017 after allegations of assault. In 2018, Spacey posted an eerie video addressing the controversy that derailed his once-stellar career.
