While speaking to AP Entertainment, Margot Robbie was asked about a sequel to Barbie. Margot Robbie made it clear that when they made the first film, they didn’t have any sequels planned for the future.

“I think we put everything into this one. We didn’t build it to be a trilogy or something. It was like Greta put everything into this movie, so I can’t imagine what would be next.”

Fans are definitely disappointed that Barbie might not be getting a sequel at all. That being said, Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig will likely have more projects in the future, so not all hope is lost just yet.
