Despite the fate that the franchise has suffered with the advent of fresh CEOs of DC Films, the DCEU under the supervision of director Zack Snyder is still a cherished memory for the fans of comic book films. Thus, with his reputation preceding his work in the now-dismantled franchise, people look forward to his next move.
But in conjunction with his next moves, fans are also interested to know his opinions on superhero cinema in general. Thus, when it came time to face the music and talk about his views on 2017’s Justice League which was created by Joss Whedon, he came clean and revealed that he is yet to watch the film, but he firmly believed that the end result wasn’t the right one.
Zack Snyder Reveals That He Still Hasn’t Watched Joss Whedon’s Justice League
The DCEU was once the leading cinematic universe that could give the MCU a run for its money, but now, it lies dismantled in the past for the creation of the DCU to become a reality. Before WB Discovery let the past franchise go downhill due to poor management, Zack Snyder was the man behind the meteoric rise of the DCEU’s success.
And it seems like since leaving the franchise behind, he hasn’t looked back at what came after his unjust departure.

In a recent interview profile with The Hollywood Reporter, the Watchmen director talked about his upcoming project Rebel Moon along with all his past creations in the film industry. Here, when talking about his version of the epic DC superhero team-up, dubbed Justice League: The Snyder Cut, he revealed that what DC eventually released in 2017 was not what the film was meant to be.
The version that was created by Joss Whedon after Snyder’s departure was a film made to resemble an Avengers movie, which was not how the creative process behind the film was supposed to look. He said:
“We cared deeply about what we were doing, we weren’t trying to make an ‘Avengers’ movie. We weren’t. We didn’t know how, quite frankly. They brought someone in that did. I’ve never seen the [Whedon version], but it wasn’t the answer.”
And that showed as Snyder’s version is unanimously considered to be the better Justice League of the two. Still, it was surprising for many to hear that the filmmaker hadn’t watched the other one.
