The DCEU was once the leading cinematic universe that could give the MCU a run for its money, but now, it lies dismantled in the past for the creation of the DCU to become a reality. Before WB Discovery let the past franchise go downhill due to poor management, Zack Snyder was the man behind the meteoric rise of the DCEU’s success.

The version that was created by Joss Whedon after Snyder’s departure was a film made to resemble an Avengers movie, which was not how the creative process behind the film was supposed to look. He said:

“We cared deeply about what we were doing, we weren’t trying to make an ‘Avengers’ movie. We weren’t. We didn’t know how, quite frankly. They brought someone in that did. I’ve never seen the [Whedon version], but it wasn’t the answer.”

And that showed as Snyder’s version is unanimously considered to be the better Justice League of the two. Still, it was surprising for many to hear that the filmmaker hadn’t watched the other one.
